Measurement Notes: Box insulation improved to Mexicolder standards, freezer box 2-1/2 size. Ambient daily temperature cycle 70-88 degrees F. Hull side of box in sun from sunrise to noon. Evaporator (freezer) box and main box kept 1/2 to 3/4 full. Measurements in seconds & made with stopwatch over several days. System includes 2-inch PVC tubing runs with a circulation fan to a forward, larger, unimproved box used as vegetable cooler.

Original Alder-Barbour Notes: Old system started up at 7.0 amps for a few minutes then came down to around 6.1 amps for duration of cycle. Original Catalina box insulation. 65-75 Amp-hr/day agrees with daily observations on a Link 1000 battery monitoring system made in SF Bay California during summer and cruising Mexico in winter. System 5 years old and checked to specs in SF Bay by licensed technician before leaving for Mexico. Compressor seized in Zihuatenajo in December 2003.
